At the “Sustainable Living Festival”

On the last Saturday of September, class V TIEN, together with a delegation of the other fifth forms, went on a fieldtrip to the “Sustainable Living Festival” in Fano.

After discussing the meaning of SUSTAINABILITY, we took part in a series of workshops in English organized by the students of the “Liceo Scientifico Torelli”.

Our hosts taught us how to re-use things we don’t need anymore, transforming rubbish creatively into new objects that can be used again.

With the help of our new friends, we made penholders out of old floppy disks and magnifying lenses for micro-photos with our mobile phones out of old CD burners.

Then we headed to the stalls where we interviewed local organic producers, fair trade dealers and no-profit organizations.

We learnt a lot and had lots of fun!!!!

This experience has led to a project that will see four secondary schools in Fano working together.

During this school year classes from the participant schools will meet to analyse the concept of sustainability from different points of view.
